Review. DEVILPRIEST . Where I Am The Chalice, Be Thou The Blood

Where I Am The Chalice, Be Thou The Blood (Nuclear Winter Records) 34:53min

Being a fan of Polish Metal makes me always expectant when it comes about an extreme Metal band from his country. Commonly I think it is going to be a good band and commonly I’m not disappointed. Here we are speaking about a band that could be labeled as Death Metal with some rare riffs from time to time. Sometimes I feel it is unnecessary technical, riffs that not necessarily should be there. Maybe I’m fucking raw and I’m fucking wrong. Who cares?! I’m sure these guys compose, play and execute their instruments very well. They are good musicians others could mention. Something that is a very high point on my morbid visions, are the solos. I’m not sceptical at any point, once you hear this, you are shot by a devilish chainsaw, victim of the “floyd rose”! Bands like MORBID ANGEL, IMMOLATION or INCANTATION can cross your mind when you listen to this. Nothing bad anyone could say. I just felt it was technical for my raw ears at first shot, but once you continue with the massacre, you really started to be part of this brutal mutilation, knowing that the suffering is going to be eternal. Commonly songs have many tempos, nothing monotonous. So you are going to be blasted in many ways. Clearly it is for those into not raw technical Death Metal without losing brutality or aggression. Solos and Floyd are the main highlights for these destroyed ears.
